Senior Software Engineer - Embedded & Industrial Systems

An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly skilled Software Engineer with a passion for legacy system transformation and embedded software development. Our client is looking for a technically strong professional who can bridge the gap between existing software platforms and future-ready technologies while supporting critical traffic monitoring infrastructure projects.

This role offers the chance to work on complex engineering solutions within a collaborative and technically focused environment.

Key Duties

• Maintain, enhance, and refactor existing Delphi-based applications
• Participate in the evaluation and adoption of modern software development technologies
• Design software solutions aligned with performance and reliability requirements
• Support hardware-software integration and validation activities
• Review system requirements and develop technical specifications
• Contribute to testing, quality assurance, and release management processes
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Assist with software architecture and long-term platform modernisation initiatives

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of software development experience
• Practical experience working with Delphi or legacy application environments
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles
• Experience with source control systems and software configuration practices
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Valid South African driver's licence
