Junior Surfacing Foreman

Job Overview

The Junior Surfacing Foreman is responsible for assisting in the supervision and coordination of road surfacing operations on construction sites. The incumbent ensures that surfacing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements. The role involves supervising surfacing crews, monitoring production, maintaining quality standards, and assisting with plant and resource management. This position provides a development path towards a Surfacing Foreman role.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (advantageous)
• 2–5 years' experience in road construction and surfacing operations
• Knowledge of asphalt paving, chip seals, slurry seals, and road rehabilitation processes
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Good leadership and communication skills
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Valid Code EB Driver's Licence
• Valid medical fitness certificate
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety requirements
• Willingness to travel and work on construction sites across various regions
