Project Implementer (12-Month Contract)

Job Purpose
This role supports a major operational transformation program within a global organisation. Acting as a key partner to Programme Leadership, the position is responsible for managing execution of the programme plan—providing PMO support, ensuring accountability across critical teams, and driving delivery of agreed outcomes. This is a 12-month contract and the role reports to the Transformation PMO.
Key responsibilities include
- Developing and monitoring delivery plans
- Managing a team of documenters
- Arranging, coordinating and supporting workshops, travel and logistics
- Facilitating alignment between country stakeholders, central management, and project teams.
- Executing Procurement activities related to Vendor payment
The role will expand to provide support across the full spectrum of project management knowledge areas (Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communications, Risk, Procurement, Stakeholder, and Integration) as required. Ultimately, the goal is to support the successful delivery of this special program by providing the necessary structure, oversight and ownership to project management activities. This position is particularly well suited to individuals seeking to rapidly enhance their project management expertise within a dynamic and high-profile initiative.
Principal Accountabilities
Programme Management and Support
- Assist Programme Manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring
- Track milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure adherence to project plans.
- Work closely with action owners to drive delivery to plan, understand blockers and propose solutions.
- Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, and management.
- Schedule and coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting minutes.
- Schedule and co-ordinate workshops and associated travel and logistics.
- Support Programme spend tracking and reporting against budget.
- Help design and continuously improve programme delivery processes.
- Working in the ERP to create Purchase Requestions, work with stakeholders to complete Purchase Order and Invoice Processing.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain and update project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and change requests.
- Help prepare regular project status reports, dashboards, and metrics for stakeholders and senior management.
- Administer and maintain project repository.
- Manage the delivery of documenters who are responsible for delivery of quality design deliverables.
Stakeholder Communication
- Support programme team onboarding & stakeholder communication.
- Assist in managing stakeholder expectations and fostering positive relationships.
Risk and Issue Management
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and monitoring project risks and issues.
- Support the development of risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Maintain risk and issue logs and ensure timely escalation to management when necessary.
Requirements
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experiences
- 2+ years of experience in project management, PMO, or similar role is mandatory.
- Experience must include monitoring, controlling, and reporting on multiple projects / programs, with teams distributed across Africa and Europe.
- Proven demonstration of strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently - within a pressurized environment - and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively manage and engage diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall etc.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MsTeams).
- Good Presentation skills & Facilitation skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Assertiveness & demonstrated ability to deliver through others.
- Conflict handling / management.
- Project management qualification preferred
- French language beneficial
- Experience in working in SAP is advantageous
