KS2 Teaching Assistant - Full‑Time, Long‑Term - Immediate Start

A high‑achieving, community‑focused East London primary school with a strong reputation for inclusion, excellent behaviour and a warm, supportive ethos is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school prides itself on structured routines, ambitious teaching and a nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to become confident, independent learners.

This is a full‑time, long‑term role starting ASAP, supporting pupils across KS2 and working closely with class teachers to deliver purposeful, engaging learning.

Role Responsibilities

  • Delivering targeted support to KS2 pupils through small‑group and 1:1 interventions
  • Supporting children with mild to moderate SEN needs (ASD, ADHD, speech & language, SEMH)
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, resource organisation and behaviour routines
  • Helping pupils strengthen core skills in reading, writing, maths and reasoning
  • Encouraging independence, resilience and positive learning habits
  • Maintaining a calm, inclusive and motivating classroom environment
  • Upholding safeguarding standards and communicating effectively with staff and families

Requirements

  • KS2 classroom experience is essential
  • Some SEN experience within a primary school setting
  • A degree is highly desirable, especially in education or a related field
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Strong communication skills, patience and a proactive, supportive approach
  • Commitment to a long‑term, full‑time role starting immediately
  • Professionalism, reliability and confidence in a busy primary environment

Pay

£100-£110 per day DOE
