Machine Operator - Epping

Overall Responsibility
The Production Line Operator is responsible for CIP, sanitization, operation, and cleaning of the machines. They are responsible for filling orders according to the schedule, running the line and working with the lab and cellar team to ensure that all QC parameters are met.
Key Accountabilities And Focus Areas
Focus Area 1: Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free working environment
- Adhere to SHP Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards in all daily activities.
- Participate in safety observations, follow established safety processes, and report or escalate identified gaps.
- Maintain 5S standards in the designated work area.
- Always adhere to safe working practices
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, and safe work instructions.
- Conduct pre-task safety checks before starting equipment or processes
Focus Area 2: Manufacturing Excellence culture
- Consistently follows Manufacturing Excellence (ME) pillar tools and standardized work processes.
- Adhere to structured shift handover requirements to ensure operational continuity and information accuracy.
- Maintain the Operator Workstation/area concept throughout the shift
- Perform assigned Autonomous Maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards.
- Take responsibility for basic equipment condition, inspection, cleaning, and lubrication activities.
- Report equipment abnormalities and support restoration to basic conditions.
- Support the continuous improvement culture
- Drive manufacturing excellence pillars on the shopfloor
Focus Area 3: Operations
- Follow production schedule to ensure orders are met on time and in the proper cooperage
- CIP and sanitize the line according to SOP protocols
- Keep production line area and storage area organized and clean
- Maintain stock of all packaging materials used
- Identify problems on the line and notify Process Artisan /Process Operator when needed and maintenance as needed
- Identify and report all the non-conformances
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements Of Role
- Completed Matric Certificate (ideally Math's & Physics)
- A minimum of 2 years machine operator experience, ideally in an FMCG environment
- Technical Courses (N4, N5 or N6) will be an added advantage
- Experience in food and beverages packaging line will be added advantage
Skills And Competencies
- Ability to operate and use a PC computer

- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing ability to complete simple math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail while managing time to meet production goals
