Key Role and Responsibilities

The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for engineering projects, ensuring compliance with ISO14001 (Environmental Management), ISO9001 (Quality Management), and ISO45001 (Occupational Health & Safety). This role requires a thorough understanding of project scopes, tender documentation, and client specifications to ensure competitive bids that meet company standards.

* Minimum of 5 years estimating experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment

* Minimum 3 years experience estimating industrial refrigeration projects

* Experience with turnkey engineering projects

* Experience estimating mechanical piping systems

* Experience estimating structural steel fabrication

* Experience estimating electrical and instrumentation installations

* Experience preparing large multidisciplinary tenders exceeding R20 million

Experience working with EPC or Design-and-Build projects

* Experience with food processing, cold storage, abattoirs or beverage facilities

* Experience preparing subcontractor enquiries and evaluating quotations

* Experience negotiating supplier pricing

* Experience compiling commercial tender submissions

• National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field/ or
• Trade Test (Mechanical Fitter, Refrigeration Mechanic, Electrician) with estimating experience
• Diploma in Project Management
• Certification in Cost Estimation or Project Management (advantageous).
• Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001, and ISO45001 standards.
• Refrigeration qualification (SAQCC Gas or similar) or
• Registered Engineering Technician or Professional Registration (ECSA)
