Travel Industry - Product & Marketing Executive
RPK Management Services
The Product & Marketing Executive is responsible for keeping the agency commercially relevant online. The role sources useful, current content from preferred suppliers every day, turns that material into accurate website content, and ensures the same source content is packaged properly for SEO and social media use.
The role also converts approved ideas and supplier opportunities identified at trade shows into live products, campaigns and sales material. It is an execution role with enough experience and judgement to work independently, challenge incomplete supplier material, prioritise commercial opportunities and keep several campaigns moving at once.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Product and Content Sourcing
- Contact preferred suppliers daily to source current offers, product launches, destination content, campaign material, imagery and sales opportunities.
- Build relationships with the right supplier contacts and follow up without waiting for content to arrive in the inbox.
- Prioritise content according to preferred-supplier strategy, commercial value, seasonality, customer relevance and available inventory.
- Confirm rates, validity dates, inclusions, exclusions, booking conditions, cancellation terms, target market and approved images before publication.
- Secure permission to use supplier copy, images and promotional material, and retain evidence of the source and approval.
- Maintain a forward product and content pipeline so the website is not dependent on last-minute supplier promotions.
Website Product Management
- Create, update and publish product pages, promotional offers, landing pages and destination content on the Simply Nexus website.
- Write clear customer-facing copy that explains the offer, who it is for, why it matters and what the customer must do next.
- Apply the correct categories, tags, supplier references, campaign dates, links and calls to action.
- Check pricing, dates, spelling, terms, links, images and mobile presentation before content goes live.
- Remove, archive or update expired content promptly so customers and consultants are not working from stale information.
- Log website issues and follow them through with the relevant technical support person.
Marketing Content Coordination
- Prepare complete content briefs for the team containing approved copy, offers, images, links, campaign dates, target audience, calls to action and required terms.
- Take responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and supplier approval of the source content before it is passed on.
- Plan website, email, social and internal sales content from one agreed source so messages do not contradict each other.
- Work with the team on keyword opportunities and content requirements, while the team remains responsible for SEO practice, channel formatting, scheduling and social media execution.
- Track outstanding briefs, approvals and publication dates, and escalate delays that place a campaign at risk.
Trade-Show Follow-Through
- Receive the agreed priorities, supplier opportunities and product ideas identified by the Head of Leisure at trade shows.
- Record each approved opportunity with the supplier, concept, required content, commercial value, action owner and target publication date.
- Contact suppliers, collect the required material and convert viable opportunities into website content, campaigns, product training or sales tools.
- Provide progress updates and close out ideas that are not commercially viable, cannot be supported by the supplier or no longer fit the strategy.
- Attend selected supplier functions or local trade events where product knowledge or execution support is required. Ownership of the trade-show strategy remains with the Head of Leisure.
Product Support for the Simply Nexus Team
- Provide consultants with concise product updates, offer summaries, supplier contacts, booking conditions and sales prompts.
- Coordinate short supplier product sessions or internal briefings where the team needs better knowledge to sell an offer confidently.
- Identify gaps in the current product range and recommend suppliers, destinations or themes that should be added to the content plan.
- Collect feedback from consultants on customer demand, objections and product gaps, then use it to improve the website and supplier content pipeline.
Content Control and Reporting
- Maintain a single content calendar showing source, supplier, channel, approval status, owner, publication date and expiry date.
- Keep a clear record of supplier approvals, image rights, pricing sources and material changes.
- Review the website routinely for expired offers, broken links, duplicate content, inaccurate terms and gaps in preferred-supplier representation.
- Report monthly on content published, supplier participation, website freshness, trade-show actions, campaign engagement, leads and outstanding risks.
- Use website and campaign results to recommend what should be repeated, improved or stopped.
Daily
- Source or follow up supplier content and commercial opportunities.
- Publish, update or quality-check website content.
- Check offers approaching expiry and remove or renew them.
- Progress open content briefs and trade-show actions.
Weekly
- Review the content calendar with your manager and confirm priorities for the next two weeks.
- Provide team with complete, approved content packs by the agreed deadline.
- Issue a concise product update to the team.
- Identify preferred suppliers or product categories that are under-represented.
Monthly
- Report on content output, accuracy, supplier coverage, website freshness, engagement, leads and conversion indicators.
- Review which campaigns produced useful enquiries or sales and recommend the next action.
- Present open supplier, website or approval risks that require intervention.
The role is not responsible for
- Setting the overall strategy or choosing the trade-show programme.
- Managing the consultants or owning their sales and service performance.
- Negotiating or approving major supplier commercials without the Head of Leisure.
- Owning technical SEO, paid media, social media scheduling or final channel publication where these sit with Yaaseen.
- Routine leisure booking fulfilment, ticketing, refunds or after-hours consultant duties, except where product testing or campaign support is specifically required.
- Three to five years' relevant experience in leisure travel product, tour operating, destination marketing, e-commerce content or travel marketing.
- Practical experience working with travel suppliers such as airlines, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, tour operators, destination management companies or tourism boards.
- Experience publishing and maintaining website content through a content management system.
- Strong written English and the ability to turn supplier material into useful customer-facing copy.
- Good commercial understanding of rates, commission, overrides, package inclusions, validity periods and booking terms.
- A relevant qualification in travel, tourism, marketing, communications or e-commerce would be useful, but proven ability is more important.
- Strong product judgement and an interest in destinations, suppliers and travel trends.
- Confident supplier communication and persistent follow-up.
- Accurate copywriting, proofreading and content quality control.
- Ability to work independently, organise competing campaigns and meet publication deadlines.
- Working knowledge of website content systems, Microsoft 365 and basic image preparation tools.
- Basic understanding of SEO and social media content requirements, without needing to be the technical specialist.
- Comfort using website and campaign data to make practical content decisions.
- Good judgement about when an offer is commercially useful, incomplete, misleading or not worth publishing.
Performance should be measured on useful, accurate content and commercial follow-through, not simply on how many posts are produced.
- A visible forward content pipeline covering the agreed planning period.
- Consistent publication of new and updated preferred-supplier content against the content calendar.
- Turnaround time from receipt of complete approved material to website publication.
- Accuracy of pricing, terms, dates, images, links and supplier information.
- Expired offers removed or renewed before they create a customer or consultant problem.
- Content packs supplied to team on time and complete on first handover.
- Trade-show actions recorded promptly and converted into measurable campaigns, products or documented decisions.
- Balanced representation of preferred suppliers and priority product categories.
- Growth in relevant website engagement, qualified enquiries and sales influenced by published content
The role is succeeding when the website is current, preferred suppliers are visible, trade-show ideas do not disappear into a notebook, the team receives complete source material, and the manager can focus on managing the team instead of chasing content.
