We are seeking an experienced SHE IMS Practitioner to support the effective implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management systems within a mining environment on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for SHE performance reporting, audit coordination, systems administration, SHE change management, stakeholder communication and maintaining the integrity of SHE information and records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyse and report on SHE performance against objectives, targets and management programmes.
  • Coordinate SHE audit scheduling, service provider notifications and auditor logistics.
  • Administer SHE-related service provider contracts, including contract reviews, SLA monitoring, invoicing and payment administration.
  • Provide effective administration and support of the IsoMetrix SHE management system.
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of SHE records on IsoMetrix, SharePoint and other enabling technologies.
  • Provide IsoMetrix user support, guidance and training to relevant stakeholders.
  • Extract, interpret and analyse SHE data and prepare professional monthly reports and presentations.
  • Coordinate the tracking, monitoring, review and reporting of SHE objectives, targets and management programmes.
  • Monitor corrective and preventative actions and verify the effectiveness of implemented controls.
  • Develop and coordinate SHE change management and communication initiatives.
  • Prepare SHE communication material, including incident reports, safety alerts, safety moments, audit learnings and training content.
  • Support communication with internal and external stakeholders, including government departments and surrounding communities.
  • Identify SHE-related learning and competency requirements and assist with the development and updating of training materials.
  • Integrate relevant SHE risk controls into procedures, standard operating procedures and training material.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through analysis of SHE performance, risks, incidents and audit findings.
  • Provide SHE-related feedback and compliance updates during departmental meetings and relevant committees.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with management, employees, clients, service providers and other stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
  • National Diploma in Safety Management or related qualification.
  • BTech in Safety Management will be advantageous.
  • ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 knowledge/certification is essential.
  • Minimum 6 years' relevant SHE experience, preferably within the mining, petrochemical or related industrial environment.
  • Experience with IsoMetrix and SharePoint will be advantageous.
  • Strong reporting, data analysis and systems administration capabilities.
  • Good understanding of SHE risk management, assurance processes, policies, procedures and standards.
