Automation Engineer

We are seeking experienced Automation Engineers to join engineering teams in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, programming, testing and commissioning of industrial automation and control systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design, develop and implement industrial automation and control solutions.
• Develop, program and troubleshoot PLC control systems.
• Develop, configure and troubleshoot HMI systems.
• Perform testing, commissioning and start-up of machinery, equipment and automated systems.
• Conduct on-site fault finding and optimisation during commissioning.
• Integrate PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors and other industrial automation equipment.
• Translate functional and technical specifications into practical automation solutions.
• Test and validate software and control systems before implementation.
• Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical and control-related faults.
• Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Project Engineers.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Support modifications, upgrades and continuous improvement of existing systems.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
• Ensure systems comply with applicable technical, quality and safety standards.

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Industrial Automation or related discipline.
• Professional experience within industrial automation, machine building, manufacturing or a similar engineering environment.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience.
• HMI development/configuration experience.
• Commissioning and start-up experience.
• Experience with industrial control systems and automation hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• EPLAN experience is advantageous.
• Good English communication skills.
• Willing and able to relocate to/work in the Netherlands.
