CCTV Technician

The duties of the CCTV Technician include but are not limited to the installation and commissioning of new systems as well as fault finding and maintenance of existing systems.

• Troubleshooting onsite faults on Analog/IP CCTV systems
• Quoting on new and existing Analog/IP CCTV systems and cameras
• Installation of Analog/IP CCTV systems
• Commissioning and handover of systems to clients
• Remote viewing, offsite monitoring, and DNS account setup
• Basic network configuration, IP setup
• Basic setup of wired and wireless networks
• Installation and commissioning of video distribution to multiple monitors
• Provide remote support to technicians and clients
• Updating job cards with notes timeously.

• High school certificate or equivalent
• Networking and CCTV related course will be an added advantage
• PSIRA certificate required
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role

Job-Related Experience

• Extensive knowledge of CCTV systems
• Good understanding of CCTV cabling, power supplies, and cameras
• Good understanding of wired and wireless network equipment
• Computer literate.
