BIM Coordinator - Cape Town

Our client, an established architectural practice, is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to join their team in Bellville. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven professional to take ownership of BIM coordination, digital workflows and model quality while helping shape the practice's future approach to BIM, AI and architectural technology.

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams and the Director of Operations to implement BIM processes, improve digital workflows, provide technical support and drive the adoption of emerging technologies across the studio.

• Coordinate BIM requirements and standards across project teams.

• Manage multidisciplinary model coordination and identify potential clashes and model issues.

• Conduct model health audits and implement quality assurance processes.

• Support teams with Revit drawing production, detailing and model development.

• Develop and maintain BIM libraries, families and templates.

• Provide technical support and training on BIM workflows and drawing systems.

• Assist with the implementation of AI, automation and emerging architectural technologies.

• Research and test new digital tools, plugins and software to improve studio efficiency.

• Mentor junior team members and promote BIM best practices across the studio.

Minimum Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Architecture.

• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience.

• Minimum 5 years' experience with Revit, Autodesk Suite and BIM tools.

• Experience implementing BIM processes.

• Dynamo experience will be advantageous.

Experience

• Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models.

• Experience with BIM standards, digital governance and model quality control.

• Experience with clash detection and resolving model coordination issues.

• Experience developing BIM content, including families and templates.

• Experience providing technical support and training to architectural teams.

• Experience with as-built models and point cloud data will be advantageous.
