Clinical Facilitator

Clinical education plays a vital role in maintaining safe, confident nursing practice. A Clinical Facilitator is sought in Hillcrest to guide staff development, support competency-based learning and strengthen the link between education and day-to-day clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate clinical education and training programmes for nursing staff.
• Support the orientation and development of new employees and students.
• Assess clinical competencies and identify areas requiring further development.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and support within the clinical environment.
• Coordinate learning activities in line with identified departmental training needs.
• Maintain accurate training, assessment and competency records.
• Support nursing staff in applying theoretical knowledge to clinical practice.
• Collaborate with unit managers and other stakeholders to address learning and competency gaps.
• Promote compliance with nursing standards, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
• Contribute to quality improvement and ongoing professional development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse, or registration as a Registered Nurse with an equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in the relevant speciality area.
• Appropriate qualification in Nursing Education.
• Intermediate computer proficiency, particularly within the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Assessor and Moderator training will be highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience within a hospital environment.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a Clinical Facilitator, Learning and Development or similar educational role will be advantageous.
• Strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, mentor and develop nursing staff.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clinical stakeholders.
