CNC Machinist

Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their plastic manufacturing operation in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and setting CNC machinery to produce precision components while maintaining high standards of quality and production efficiency

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and turning machines
• Set up machines, tooling, workpieces, and cutting parameters
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Perform in-process measurements and quality checks
• Make program adjustments where required to maintain product specifications
• Monitor machine performance and identify machining issues
• Perform routine machine checks and maintain a clean work area
• Minimise scrap and downtime through effective machine operation
• Work closely with Toolmakers, Programmers, Production, and Quality teams

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Fitter Trade Test Advantageous
• CNC machining qualification or relevant technical qualification
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in manufacturing
• Experience in the plastics, tooling, injection moulding, or related industry advantageous
• Understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Experience with precision measuring equipment
