Junior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a manufacturing operation in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering projects, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and plant equipment
• Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through implementation
• Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams
• Investigate equipment failures and implement effective engineering solutions
• Support equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning activities
• Drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency
• Ensure engineering work complies with safety, quality, and statutory requirements
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and project documentation

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• BTech Mechanical Engineering
• 3 - 5 Years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
• Experience in project management and equipment optimisation
• Analytical and problem-solving
• Knowledge of CAD and engineering design principles advantageous
• Communication and stakeholder management skills
• ECSA registration advantageous
