The Operations Manager Guarding will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the designated areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality security services to clients, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, employees, and other stakeholders.
Key Objectives
- Manage the operations of the security services within the designated areas, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of security management and personnel, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the service provided.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and threats within the designated area, ensuring the safety and security of clients, employees, and the general public.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the security services within the designated area, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- Focusing on the business aspect of the company relating to the meeting of budgets and maintaining profit margins
- Controlling wages

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the security services within the designated areas.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of security management and personnel, ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Conduct regular inspections of client sites in the designated areas, identifying potential risks and threats and implementing measures to mitigate them.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the service provided.
- Investigate incidents and complaints, taking corrective action as necessary to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and Training, to ensure that security personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Prepare and submit reports, including incident reports, security breach reports, and performance reports.
- Ensure a well-trained management and supervision compliment within the designated areas and the record keeping thereof.
- Ensure the control and maintenance of company equipment / assets.
Day to day duties
- Conduct regular inspections of the client sites in the designated areas.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of security personnel.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Investigate incidents and complaints.
- Collaborate with other departments.
- Prepare and submit reports.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, methods, and techniques within the areas of physical security.
- Matric / Grade 12. 5 years of experience in the security industry in a senior management or area management role.
- Valid PSIRA certificate, valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
- A diploma or degree in a related field, such as security management, law enforcement, or business administration.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (if required).
