Role Description

The Grant and Innovation Advisory Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Belfast. This position focuses on identifying relevant grant, funding, and innovation support opportunities for clients, and advising them on eligibility, application strategy, and compliance requirements.

Daily responsibilities include

• Conducting market and funding research,
• Preparing high-quality grant applications and supporting documentation
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders and client teams to gather necessary information.

This role will analyse innovation and growth plans, translate them into compelling proposals, and provide guidance on project structuring, timelines, and reporting.

The role also involves tracking outcomes, maintaining accurate records, preparing progress reports, and contributing to thought leadership or client-facing materials on grants, innovation, and funding landscapes.

Qualifications

• Strong grant-related skills, including experience in funding research, eligibility assessment, application preparation, and grant compliance.
• Excellent analytical and advisory skills, with the ability to interpret business growth plans, assess innovation potential, and provide structured recommendations.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, report drafting, and the ability to explain complex funding requirements clearly.
• Solid stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with clients, project teams, and external partners.
• High level of organisation, attention to detail, and time management, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
• Comfort with data and digital tools, including proficiency in standard office software and the ability to maintain accurate records and tracking systems.
• Relevant experience in grant advisory, innovation funding, consulting, or professional services; experience with UK or EU funding schemes is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public policy, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated interest in supporting SME growth, regional development, and innovation-led projects.
