Senior Bookkeeper - East Rand

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, and ensuring that financial information is complete, accurate, and compliant with relevant accounting and tax requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled bookkeeper with strong Pastel Partner and MS Excel experience who is confident managing debtors, creditors, reconciliations, VAT, and property rental transactions.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
• Record and reconcile day-to-day financial transactions, including inter-company loan accounts, sales, purchases, and bank statements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledgers.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare financial reports and provide accurate financial information to accountants and management.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax and accounting requirements.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Support month-end and year-end financial processes.
• Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records for reporting and audit purposes.
• Handle bookkeeping functions relating to property rentals.

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Financial Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping experience.
• Proven experience working with debtors and creditors.
• Experience with property rentals is advantageous.
• Practical experience with VAT and basic tax compliance.
• Pastel Partner (non-negotiable).
• MS Excel (non-negotiable).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping.
• Strong data entry and numerical accuracy skills.
