About the Role
The Store assistant responsible for the hands-on management of inventory within a warehouse, encompassing receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records
- Managing stock levels and replenishment
- Preparing and loading shipments
- Ensuring efficient stock flow and organization Requires strong physical fitness, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under the supervision of a store Supervisor.
- Assist in receiving, handling, and inspecting incoming inventory to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
- Organize and maintain stock levels in storage areas, ensuring all products are correctly labeled and stored.
- Process outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and arranging transportation of goods to customers or other locations.
- Perform regular stocktaking and inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Support the team by maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate timely order fulfillment and resolve any inventory-related issues.
- Utilize inventory management software to update records and track movements of stock efficiently.
- Participate in training and development sessions to enhance skills and improve operational efficiency.
- Grade 12/Matric
- Qualification related to Supply Chain and Logistics
- Proven track record in a similar stores or inventory management role, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems or software, along with basic computer proficiency.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and ensure accurate stock management.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, complying with workplace health and safety standards.
- Basic numeracy skills for managing stock levels and conducting audits effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years in administrative roles, basic knowledge of inventory management - Proficient with SAP usage and understanding.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Proficient in basic computer skills, including data entry and navigation
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with warehouse team members to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues to ensure seamless operations and efficient workflow.

- Apply numerical skills to maintain accurate inventory records, track stock movements, and identify discrepancies.
