ESTIMATOR AND COST CONTROLLER

Impact Retail Display (Pty) Ltd designs, manufactures and installs retail store fixtures and undertakes turnkey shopfitting projects. We are looking for an experienced Estimator and Cost Controller to accurately cost turnkey projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Study drawings and establish a full understanding of the scope of work.

2. Determine the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each project.

3. Liaise with the buyer and suppliers to determine costs against the BOM.

4. Estimate production, logistics, specialised items and out of house costs.

5. Produce accurate, timely cost estimates and quotes for full store builds and fixtures.

6. Issue the scope of works to Project Planning.

7. Source suppliers for new items and arrange procurement of specialised items on authorisation.

8. Reconcile actual costs against estimated costs per project and prepare final accounts.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Quantity Surveying qualification.

2. 5+ years' estimating or cost control experience in shopfitting, construction or a related industry.

3. Digital literacy and experience with estimating and costing programs and spreadsheets.

1. Accuracy and attention to detail in pricing, take-offs and reconciliations.

2. Commercial judgement: protecting margin without losing conversion.

3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and floor plans.

4. Numerical and analytical strength.

5. Effective communication with suppliers, planning, and production.

6. Planning and organisation: managing multiple enquiries to deadline.

7. Administrative accuracy and disciplined record keeping.

8. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

9. Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and team.
