Bookkeeper - Cape Town

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a professional accounting team in the Northern Suburbs. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge who is confident working with multiple clients and managing their books through to Trial Balance.

• Bookkeeping to Trial Balance
• SARS eFiling, including VAT201 and EMP201 submissions
• Preparation of Trial Balances for accountants
• Reconciliation of banks, debtors, creditors and balance sheet ledgers
• Processing of journal entries
• Assisting clients with understanding their books
• Client visits and client interaction
• Setting up take-over balances and new client books
• Working with stock and stock adjustments
• Managing the books of approximately 20 companies through to Trial Balance
• Producing accurate and high-quality work while managing multiple deadlines

• Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Knowledge of Sage One Accounting, Xero, Zoho, QuickBooks Online and Pastel
• Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Clockify and Syft
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy
• Strong numerical ability
• Integrity and transparency
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts
• Presentable and confident when dealing directly with clients
