Cloud FinOps Analyst – Cape Town

Hybrid Work Model | 12‑Month Contract

We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Analyst – Infrastructure to drive effective cloud financial management across AWS environments. This specialist role will enable cost visibility, governance, forecasting, optimization, accountability, and value realisation, supporting Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS cloud cost reporting, dashboards, and insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for AWS spend.
• Ensure tagging compliance and accurate cost allocation.
• Identify and implement cloud cost optimization opportunities.
• Manage AWS commitments (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot usage).
• Embed FinOps governance, policies, and controls into operations.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and promote cost‑conscious engineering.
• Leverage AWS native tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, Anomaly Detection, Compute Optimizer) and reporting platforms such as Power BI.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree/diploma in IT, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or Cloud Computing.
• Substantial experience in IT infrastructure, cloud operations, cost management, or IT finance.
• Practical AWS cloud services and billing/cost management knowledge.
• Strong skills in reporting, dashboards, and financial analysis (Power BI, Excel, SQL).
• Proven ability to translate AWS billing data into actionable business insights.
• Stakeholder engagement across technical and financial teams.

Preferred Certifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner/Professional.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect.
• ITIL, COBIT, TBM, or cloud governance frameworks.
