VACANCY: SITE QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Project Controls Consultants is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Site Quantity Surveyor for a civil engineering project in Rustenburg, North West.

Position details

• Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension
• Location: Rustenburg, North West
• Experience: 5–10 years
• Sector: Civil engineering
• Essential experience: Dam construction

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assess monthly payment certificates
• Manage variations, claims and other contractual changes
• Administer the construction contract
• Measure completed works and prepare quantity take-offs
• Monitor project costs, commitments and forecasts
• Prepare cost reports and cash-flow forecasts
• Assess subcontractor and supplier accounts
• Maintain variation, instruction and commercial registers
• Compile contractual notices and supporting documentation
• Monitor progress against the approved programme
• Attend progress, commercial and contractual meetings
• Prepare and negotiate the final account
• Maintain accurate project records and supporting documentation

Minimum requirements

• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying
• Between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience
• Proven site-based civil engineering experience
• Demonstrable experience in dam construction is essential
• Sound knowledge of construction contracts, measurement and cost control
• Strong communication, negotiation and reporting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity-surveying software
