Freelance Tour Guide

Pinpoint Tours is looking for a qualified and registered tour guide who is passionate about Cape Town, enjoys connecting with people, and can bring destinations to life through engaging stories and genuine local insight.

Our tours are small-group, thoughtfully designed walking experiences that go beyond the standard sightseeing checklist. We focus on history, culture, local communities and the stories that make Cape Town unique.

The role: This is a freelance, ad hoc opportunity, ideal for an experienced guide who enjoys flexibility and would like to take on occasional walking tours.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Leading small-group walking tours in Cape Town
• Sharing engaging, accurate and insightful commentary
• Creating a welcoming and memorable experience for guests
• Answering questions and interacting confidently with international travellers
• Representing the Pinpoint Tours brand professionally
• Following established tour routes, itineraries and guest-service standards

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has

• A valid, registered tour guide qualification
• Previous experience guiding tours, particularly in Cape Town
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills
• A warm, confident and personable approach
• Strong knowledge of Cape Town’s history, culture and local communities
• Experience working with international travellers
• Professionalism, reliability and good attention to detail
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
• Availability for occasional tours, including weekends and public holidays
