FEED CONTROLLER - ALBERT FALLS

The successful candidate will be a motivated individual, hands-on, accurate and responsible individual who enjoys working in an operational environment and understands the importance of accuracy, communication and teamwork and possess the following we would love to hear from you.

Duties include but will not be limited to:

  • Monitor daily feeding activities using the feedlot feeding software system
  • Monitor feed cars, tractors and feeding progress throughout the feeding cycle
  • Monitor feed plant operations and bin levels
  • Ensure feeding instructions are correctly assigned and communicated
  • Monitor feed intake and identify any irregularities or potential feeding problems
  • Identify delays, equipment issues or feeding discrepancies and report them to management
  • Maintain continuous communication between the feed plant, tractor drivers, cattlemen and management
  • Assist in coordinating feeding activities to ensure cattle are fed according to schedule
  • Maintain accurate feeding information and operational records
  • Follow up on outstanding feeding activities and ensure problems are addressed promptly

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Fluent/conversant in English and isiZulu
  • Computer literate and comfortable working with computerised systems
  • Good administrative and record-keeping skills
  • Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify problems and escalate them promptly to management
  • Basic understanding or experience in monitoring plant, machinery and equipment
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and overtime as operationally required
