The Role

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer. Our business is continuing to grow off a strong reputation built on sound designs and project commitment, and we are recruiting to meet this demand.

Minimum Requirements

• 5–8 years' experience in consulting engineering, specifically in building services (HVAC, Fire and Wet Services), with an excellent understanding of their needs and application.

• A strong technical grounding in building services.

• An excellent track record on successfully run projects, with mechanical contract values between R2m and R25m.

• BEng, BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.

• Active ECSA registration (PrEng or PrTechEng).

• Working familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit

• Proficiency with mechanical simulation / HAP software.

• Experience applying local and international codes in Fire and HVAC design.

• Valid driver's licence and own transport.

What You'll Be Doing

• Interpreting the client brief and developing designs at every stage — from scheme concept through to detail, at both macro and meso level.

• Analysing project requirements against applicable codes and standards, from conceptual design through to construction information and close-out.

• Running existing and new projects independently — investigating solutions, exploring options, and working closely with the professional team to communicate design solutions.

• Directing a small office team to ensure designs are developed and delivered on time, in line with the project programme.

• Coordinating with fellow consultants on the wider project team to ensure all requirements are met and integrated.

• Representing the company at client and professional team meetings — presenting designs, engaging with team members, and capturing client needs clearly.

• Managing internal resources to meet project deliverables, including risk management and financial control, estimating and costing.

• Reporting to the business owner for day-to-day delivery, with formal and informal support provided to develop your skills and grow with the business.

What We Offer

• Salary range is R540 000 to R750 000 per annum, depending on experience
