The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR and Industrial Relations support, with a particular focus on employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance management and CCMA matters. The ideal candidate must have practical experience handling complex IR cases and be confident in chairing disciplinary hearings and representing the company at the CCMA.

Industrial Relations

  • Manage day-to-day employee relations and industrial relations matters.

  • Handle disciplinary and grievance procedures in accordance with company policies and South African labour legislation.

  • Chair disciplinary hearings and ensure that proceedings are conducted fairly and in accordance with due process.

  • Prepare and issue disciplinary notices and related documentation.

  • Conduct investigations into employee misconduct and workplace grievances.

  • Provide guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary action.

  • Manage cases involving absenteeism, misconduct, incapacity and poor performance.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all disciplinary and IR matters.

  • Identify potential employee relations risks and recommend appropriate interventions.

CCMA & Dispute Resolution

  • Represent the company at CCMA conciliations and arbitrations.

  • Prepare documentation, evidence and case files for CCMA matters.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of CCMA cases from referral through to conciliation and arbitration.

  • Liaise with employees, representatives, unions and external parties where required.

  • Provide management with advice regarding CCMA matters and potential risks.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation and internal policies.

  • Assist with Labour Court matters where required.

HR Responsibilities

  • Provide general HR support to employees and management.

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and employee administration.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.

  • Assist with performance management processes.

  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on HR policies and procedures.

  • Assist with leave, attendance and employee-related queries.

  • Support HR projects and initiatives as required.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment legislation.

  • Grade 12 / Matric.

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or related field.

  • 3–5 years' experience in HR and Industrial Relations, preferably within a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Proven experience handling CCMA cases from preparation through to arbitration.

  • Proven experience chairing disciplinary hearings.

  • Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation, including the Labour Relations Act (LRA) and Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA).

  • Experience managing grievances, misconduct, incapacity and poor-performance cases.

  • Strong report-writing and case-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving abilities.

  • High level of confidentiality and professional integrity.
