SAIPA Accountant - Cape Town

A well-established Accounting and Audit Firm based in Cape Town is seeking a SAIPA-qualified Accountant to join its team. This opportunity is suited to an experienced accounting professional with strong exposure to Annual Financial Statement preparation, tax compliance and client accounting services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client portfolios, preparing financial information and Annual Financial Statements, assisting with tax compliance and providing support and guidance to junior staff.

• Prepare and compile Annual Financial Statements for a portfolio of clients

• Perform independent reviews and related accounting work

• Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations

• Prepare and submit income tax and provisional tax returns

• Assist with tax planning and provide support on tax-related matters

• Review accounting work and provide guidance to junior team members

• Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries

• Ensure client work is completed accurately and within required deadlines

• Assist with SARS and statutory compliance requirements

• Manage client portfolios and maintain professional client relationships

• Monitor time spent on assignments and work towards billing targets

• Ensure work is performed in accordance with relevant accounting and professional standards

• SAIPA qualification / Professional Accountant (SA)

• Relevant accounting experience within an accounting or audit firm

• Strong experience in Annual Financial Statement preparation

• Experience with independent reviews

• Practical knowledge of tax returns and tax compliance

• Exposure to tax planning and SARS-related matters

• Ability to review and guide junior staff

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and relevant standards

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Strong communication and client liaison abilities

• Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and meet deadlines

• Experience working towards time and billing targets
