Job Purpose
To ensure continuous and consistent supply of quality products through ongoing quality monitoring of internal processes checks and finished product and to assist with overall quality on the Production Floor at both Flex and BIB. To provide further assistance to Management in continuous improvement projects, new product development and testing of trial runs, BRCGS compliance, general duties and administration or the department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring the effective quality control of products to ensure all stock produced does not impact the business financially and all stock positive released.
- Ensure daily compliance to help reduce internal defect cost and customer returns defect cost.
- To ensure all tests are conducted, results of finished goods recorded are checked daily to ensure alignment to the Quality inspection plan.
- Report out-of-specification production results or deviations from the norm to the SHEQ Manager ensuring the necessary paperwork is completed according to required deadlines and requirements. (NCA record, RCA record, and NC register
- Ensure cost saving through department initiatives by collaborating with other departments to reduce waste.
- To assist with gathering records for all customer complaints.
- Gather samples relevant to complaint for investigation.
- Update customer complaint form and register.
- Pre-delivery inspection checks to ensure positive release of stock prior to dispatch.
- Conduct customer site visits for complaint investigation, if necessary, with SHEQ Manager.
- Communicate with customers regarding complaints to ensure effective closure thereof.
- Supervise BIB quality checkers and Lab QC technician.
- Ensure all BIB staff are available for shift and present prior to commencement of shift.
- Arrange staff transport for BIB staff and lab qc.
- Inspect daily quality records of production and report on any deviation.
- Assist the machine operators on the production floor ensuring the required Quality checks and processes are conducted.
- Supervise the rework (QC inspections) process and report back to SHEQ Manager.
- Investigate defective or non-conforming products when deviation is identified on shift.
- Communicate any malfunctioning Laboratory equipment to SHEQ manager.
- Assist and support with EHS requirements as per Global EHS SEE standards.
- Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and complete OHS checklists as and when required in alignment with SEE EHS requirements.
- Consistent implementation and alignment to BRCGS and admin duties.
- Ensure Operations Procedures and/or other communications from Management are always adhered to.
- Complete the necessary audits and NCA duties.
- To provide additional support to BIB QC as and when needed
- Assistance and involvement with monthly stock take and annual stock take/assisting with overall capturing of stock count data.
- Filing retained samples weekly in allocated storage space in such a manner that these can easily be retrieved when necessary.
- Block stock transfers in oracle and monitoring to ensure all stock on hold is actioned once decision is made by SHEQ Manager
- To communicate and liaise with the SHEQ Manager regarding issues arising withing the department.
- Supervise and coordinate BIB quality checkers.
- Supervise Lab quality technician.
- Admin duties ensuring hour collection sheet is filled in by staff for the payroll period.
- Populate qc staff hour spread sheet for review and approval by SHEQ Manager.
- Review and correct “Ecotime” errors, QC shift roster, and clocking’s.
- Conduct Training relating to BIB test procedures for new QC staff.
