Carpenter Box, part of Sumer, is seeking a Purchase Ledger & Finance Administrator to join our offshore team in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has strong administrative skills, and takes pride in ensuring financial processes run smoothly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the finance team, you'll support a range of core finance activities, helping to maintain accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of transactions.

Your responsibilities will include

• Managing the purchase ledger process
• Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate records
• Preparing and processing payment runs
• Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
• Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Supporting month-end finance processes
• Assisting with general finance administration and reporting

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What We're Looking For

• Current experience in purchase ledger, accounts payable, or a similar role
• Preferably have experience in a professional services / consulting / advisory environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Good numerical and analytical abilities
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and other finance systems
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
