OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Provide GeoMetallurgical technical services, supportive governance for Geometallurgy and Mineralogy for the purposes of business planning, optimisation and troubleshooting.

Role Accountabilities

Technical Accountabilities

• Modelling behaviour that is consistent with the AGA Safety Vision and Values, assisting in driving a culture where Safety is our first value, and providing support for incident/accident investigations where required.
• Provide technical services in support of the Principal GeoMetallurgy, specifically in the area of GeoMetallurgy, Mineralogy and Business Planning. This includes:
• Provide expert advice and input to the Business Units and other functions.
• Provide expert input into FAP opportunity development and execution.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, OEM's, research institutions, etc.
• Contributing productively as a member of the CTO Technical team.

People Accountabilities

• Ensure all internal and external people are treated in accordance with AGA's company values.

Role Requirements

Education & Qualification

• A degree qualification in Geology, GeoMetallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a relevant related discipline

Experience

• At least 8 years relevant experience in the mining industry
• Ability to take a 3 year business perspective in managing multiple competing priorities and reconciling these with the Company’s strategic priorities
• Strong background in production and management - desirable
• Strong track record in business improvement and change management - desirable

Knowledge & Skills

• Sound practical understanding of the entire mining value chain including geology, mining, geotechnical, metallurgy, engineering, tailings and projects
• Well-developed industry networks
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills

• Demonstrated capability in organising work, setting priorities and exercising sound independent judgement
• Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people, including leading high performing professional teams

• Preparedness to undertake extensive business travel
