Bookkeeper
Lock, Stock & Beer is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our head office team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of our hospitality business, ensuring accurate records, strong financial controls and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all supplier invoices and reconcile creditor accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and supplier payment runs.
- Maintain debtor accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Verify daily cash-ups, POS transactions and cash controls.
- Capture journals and maintain the general ledger.
- Process inventory-related transactions and supplier cost allocations.
- Maintain fixed asset registers where applicable.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations and assist with management accounts.
- Process VAT, EMP201 and other statutory submissions in conjunction with management/accountants.
- Assist with payroll administration, leave records and payroll reconciliations.
- Reconcile third-party delivery platforms, card merchants and payment gateways.
- Maintain accurate filing and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers and external accountants.
- Produce ad hoc financial reports as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience.
- Proficient in Sage Accounting (essential).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience within the hospitality, restaurant or retail industry will be advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
