DIESEL MECHANIC - Stikland Area, Cape Town - R18-R19 000 CTC

A well-established organisation within the industrial and transport services sector is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team in the Stikland area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repairs of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring that all vehicles and machinery remain safe, reliable and operational.

• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Conduct inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before breakdowns occur.
• Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension and related components.
• Perform fault-finding using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained according to required standards and schedules.
• Complete maintenance records, job cards and service documentation accurately.
• Attend to breakdowns and urgent mechanical repairs when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Assist with maintaining workshop tools and equipment.
• Work effectively with the operations team to minimise vehicle downtime.

• Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic.
• Relevant mechanical qualification and recognised trade certificate.
• 3–5 years' relevant post-trade experience.
• Hands-on experience working on diesel vehicles, trucks or heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Good knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems and vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's licence would be advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.

Salary: R18,000 – R19,000 CTC per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
