SENIOR IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Cape Town Northern Suburbs - CTC: R35,000 - R40,000 per month

A well-established organisation within the industrial and manufacturing services sector is seeking an experienced Senior IT Support Specialist to join its IT team.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to an IT professional with strong experience across network infrastructure, Microsoft environments, end-user support, server administration and IT systems maintenance.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining reliable IT services across the business, supporting users and infrastructure, and assisting with ongoing IT projects and improvements.

• Provide senior-level technical support to users across the business.
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot network and IT infrastructure.
• Support LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and connectivity environments.
• Administer and support Windows desktop and server environments.
• Monitor servers, system performance, backups and IT services.
• Manage user accounts, access, permissions and network-related issues.
• Assist with endpoint management, software deployment, patching and security updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity problems.
• Support virtualised environments and server infrastructure.
• Assist with backup, recovery and business continuity processes.
• Investigate system errors, logs and recurring technical issues.
• Assist with IT infrastructure upgrades, installations and maintenance projects.
• Provide technical documentation and maintain accurate IT records.
• Manage and resolve support tickets within agreed service levels.
• Work closely with internal teams and escalate complex technical matters when required.
• Travel between business sites when required.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, after-hours support and standby duties where required.

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant IT qualification, certification or equivalent technical experience.
• Microsoft certification such as MCSE or equivalent would be advantageous.
• 5–8 years' experience in a generalist IT infrastructure or technical support environment.
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting end users within a Microsoft-based network environment.
• Strong experience with:
  • Windows Desktop and Server environments
  • LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Network troubleshooting
  • Wi-Fi and connectivity
  • VPN and firewall environments
  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365
  • Server and endpoint management
  • Virtualisation environments
  • Backup and recovery solutions
• Experience with enterprise networking and infrastructure monitoring.
• Knowledge of security, certificates, encryption and internet protocols.
• Experience supporting telephony or unified communications solutions would be advantageous.
