eCommerce Engineer / Head of eCommerce Technology

Our client is looking for a senior-level Ecommerce Engineer who can take ownership of both the technical delivery and strategic direction of its digital commerce environment. The role goes beyond development, requiring a commercially aware technology leader who can improve platform performance, strengthen integrations, and support long-term ecommerce growth.

Requirements

• Extensive experience at senior level within ecommerce engineering or digital commerce.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce technology and commercial drivers.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or comparable platforms.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with React, Angular, Vue, or other modern front-end frameworks.
• Backend development experience using Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar.
• Strong API and systems integration experience.
• Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar.
• SQL and/or NoSQL database experience.
• Git experience.Knowledge of website optimisation, scalability, security, and technical SEO.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale integrations.
