ORTHODONTIC CLINICAL LEAD

THE OPPORTUNITY

Medical Resources Group is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing dental practice seeking an experienced Orthodontist to provide specialist support and clinical leadership across its practices.

The position is designed for an orthodontist who enjoys clinical problem-solving, treatment planning and mentoring other dentists, with the flexibility of working primarily through remote case reviews rather than a full-time chairside role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review orthodontic cases submitted by dentists.
  • Evaluate clinical photographs, radiographs, digital scans and other diagnostic information.
  • Provide specialist input on diagnosis, treatment options and proposed treatment plans.
  • Assist dentists with complex cases, case selection and appropriate referrals.
  • Provide ongoing clinical guidance and mentorship to general dentists.
  • Review treatment progress where specialist input is required.
  • Promote consistent orthodontic standards and quality of care.
  • Assist with developing clinical protocols, guidelines and treatment-planning processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Current HPCSA registration as an Orthodontist.
  • Recognised Orthodontic qualification.
  • Strong experience in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Proven ability to assess and advise on a range of orthodontic cases.
  • Experience mentoring, supervising or providing clinical guidance to dentists.
  • Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable reviewing cases and communicating recommendations remotely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

ENGAGEMENT & REMUNERATION

The role offers a flexible consulting arrangement, with the structure determined according to the candidate's availability and requirements.

Potential arrangements may include a monthly retainer, hourly/session-based consulting, per-case reviews or a combination of these.
