Diesel Mechanic

The Main Purpose of the function is

To carry out skilled diesel and petrol vehicle and machines planned, unscheduled and breakdown maintenance, as well as project work on the site. To supervise a repair shop and to carry out standby duties as required.

Key Functions include

1. Perform equipment inspections and ensure that daily work activities are executed effectively.

2. Supervise repair shop.

3. Ensure effective performance of workshop team and subordinates.

4. Comply with the production and safety procedures.

5. Comply with the requirements of Quality Management Systems, company policies and OHSA.

Minimum Requirements

· Grade 12 with core Mathematics.

· N3 Mechanics

· Accredited trade test qualification in Diesel Mechanics.

· At least 5 years’ motor mechanic maintenance in a heavy industry factory.

· Unendorsed Code EC vehicle license.

· Computer literate in Microsoft 365 suite.

· Ability to communicate in English competently.

· Clear criminal record.
