Financial Controller - 6 Month Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller for a 6-month contract.

This is a processing-focused finance role suited to someone who is highly accurate, diligent and efficient, and comfortable with a high level of manual processing and administration.

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong ERP experience, preferably SAGE 300, who can work independently and take ownership of their responsibilities.

• Cashbook processing, bank reconciliations and credit-card processing.
• General ledger processing and monthly journal entries.
• Balance-sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
• Month-end processing and supporting schedules.
• Creditor processing, payments and expense claims.
• VAT201, PAYE and SARS-related submissions and administration.
• Assist with audit preparation, queries and supporting documentation.
• Process foreign-currency transactions where required.
• Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Provide general finance support to the Financial Manager and wider finance team.

• 3–4+ years' experience in a similar Financial Controller, Financial Accountant or accounting role.
• Strong experience in cashbooks, reconciliations, journals and month-end processing.
• Experience with VAT, PAYE and SARS.
• Strong ERP experience – SAGE 300 preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience in a high-volume, processing-focused finance environment would be advantageous.

Qualification

Relevant accounting/finance qualification would be advantageous.

Working Hours

Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 or 08:30–17:00.

Contract & Remuneration

6-month fixed-term contract

Salary/Rate: R40K - R60K pm
