About the Role

We are looking for a customer-focused, energetic and detail-oriented Service Centre Assistant to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, inspecting and documenting units brought into the Service Centre for repairs, while providing professional and efficient service to both internal and external customers.

The role requires someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, use sound judgement when handling service-related matters, and appropriately escalate concerns to the National Service Centre Manager when required.

Key duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Receive, inspect, and document the state of units coming into the Service Centre for repairs.
  • Open and create job cards accurately ensuring that all relevant information pertaining to the units are captured.
  • Tag each machine with relevant job number for tracing purposes.
  • Ensure that received units are allocated space for technicians to assess.
  • Adequately package and label repaired units as per invoices for completed jobs.
  • Assist customers collecting units ensuring the collection book is filled in accurately.
  • Sort invoices and repaired units for dispatch.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the repaired and invoiced units are placed in the correct Warehouse area to be dispatched accordingly.
  • Ensure route sheets are handed to the Warehouse dispatch team daily.
  • Ensure that units sent to customers via courier are sent with the relevant documentation.
  • Ensure that daily route sheets are checked and signed for.
  • Filing of documentation in the Service Centre
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements, skills, and attributes:

  • Grade 12/Matric or equivalent.
  • Relevant technical/workshop qualification, coupled with appropriate practical work experience.
  • Direct work experience in a similar capacity, preferably within the same or a related industry.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook), SAP and Qwix.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
