Finance Manager CA(SA) – Investment Management

Our client, a growing investments business based in Sandton, is looking for an accomplished CA(SA) Finance Manager to partner closely with the CFO and take ownership of financial reporting, technical accounting, tax, audit and financial control across the group.

This is not simply a financial-control position. The CFO needs a technically strong, mature finance professional with excellent judgement who can operate independently, engage confidently with auditors and executives, and take ownership of complex finance matters from analysis through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and IFRS-compliant AFS.
• Research and resolve complex accounting and tax matters.
• Lead external audits and manage technical engagement with auditors.
• Oversee corporate tax, VAT, deferred tax and SARS-related matters.
• Prepare management, investor, Board and Exco reporting.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, capital calls, drawdowns and funder obligations.
• Support investment valuations and portfolio reporting.
• Strengthen financial controls, policies and reporting processes.
• Support finance requirements arising from acquisitions, new subsidiaries and group growth.
• Drive finance-system and process improvements.
• Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership on financial risks and business decisions.

What We're Looking For

• CA(SA) essential.
• Preferably 5+ years' post-articles experience, or equivalent senior-level experience.
• Strong IFRS and tax technical capability.
• Proven experience leading or managing external audits.
• Investment management, private equity, financial services, infrastructure or energy experience highly advantageous.
• Senior audit professionals with relevant investment, financial services or listed-company clients are also encouraged to apply.
• Exposure to fund structures, valuations, M&A or listed environments advantageous.
• Strong financial systems and advanced Excel capability.
• Confident engaging with CFO, CEO, Exco, auditors, funders and investors.
