We are currently looking for a HR Officer based in Bronkhorstspruit; Pretoria to join our dynamic team.
The HR Officer is responsible for the effective execution of the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, industrial relations, payroll support, statutory compliance, and employee engagement.
This role is hands-on, execution-driven, and compliance-focused, requiring strong collaboration with Dealership Management, Finance, Payroll, and employees across the business.
You are accountable for ensuring people processes are compliant, efficient, professional, and aligned with the company's high-performance culture.
HR Officer Mandate (5 Core Pillars)
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Attract, recruit, and onboard quality talent to support business growth and operational requirements.
HR Administration & Compliance
- Ensure accurate employee records, documentation, policies, and legislative compliance across the employee lifecycle.
Industrial Relations Excellence
- Facilitate fair, consistent, and legally compliant employee relations processes while mitigating organisational risk.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Maintain accurate payroll inputs and ensure compliance with SARS, UIF, and employment legislation requirements.
People Experience & Business Support
- Provide professional HR support to employees and managers while promoting a positive, productive workplace culture.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing requirements
- Draft, review, and update job descriptions and job specifications
- Advertise vacancies across approved recruitment platforms
- Screen applications and conduct preliminary candidate assessments
- Coordinate interviews and recruitment logistics
- Conduct reference, qualification, criminal, credit, and background checks
- Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, and employment-related documentation
- Maintain recruitment trackers and recruitment reporting
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate employee onboarding activities and inductions
- Prepare onboarding documentation and employee packs
- Ensure all new employee records are complete and compliant
- Coordinate system access, equipment allocation, and onboarding administration
- Conduct exit administration and exit interviews
- Process termination documentation and UIF-related requirements
- Ensure recovery of company assets and closure of employee records
HR Administration & Records Management
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases
- Ensure all employee files comply with POPIA requirements
- Manage leave administration and employee leave records
- Prepare employment verification letters, contract amendments, certificates of service, and other HR correspondence
- Maintain Employment Equity and Skills Development documentation
- Coordinate meetings, minute taking, and Human Capital administration
- Respond to employee queries relating to policies, procedures, and benefits
Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Advise managers on misconduct, poor performance, incapacity, and grievance matters
- Prepare disciplinary documentation, notices, and charge sheets
- Coordinate and administer disciplinary and incapacity hearings
- Chair and/or minute hearings where required
- Support workplace dispute resolution processes
- Maintain confidential and legally compliant IR records
- Assist with CCMA matters and case preparation where required
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labour legislation
Payroll Administration & Statutory Compliance
- Maintain monthly payroll input schedules and payroll records
- Capture and process payroll information accurately and timeously
- Perform payroll reconciliations and validation checks
- Support monthly payroll finalisation processes
- Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory information
- Manage UIF administration and maintain UIF records
- Support EMP201, EMP501, IRP5, and related compliance requirements
- Liaise with SARS, UIF, and regulatory bodies where required
- Employee Support & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted HR contact for employees and managers
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
- Support employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives
- Build strong working relationships across the dealership network
- Promote professionalism, fairness, confidentiality, and accountability

Minimum Qualifications
- Matric Certificate (Mandatory)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or equivalent
- Valid Driver's Licence
- South African citizenship or valid South African work permit

Minimum Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an HR Officer or HR Generalist role
- Experience chairing or administering disciplinary and incapacity hearings
- Hands-on payroll processing experience
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
