Lead Business Analyst

An exciting new opportunity has become available within Hollard Group Risk, we are looking to recruit a Lead Business Analyst within our IT department.

Hollard Group Risk (HGR) is a specialist Group Risk underwriter and focuses on the provision of group covers in South Africa.

The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for leading business analysis activities across strategic and operational HGR initiatives. The role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, risk functions, technology teams, and project delivery teams to ensure that business needs are accurately identified, analysed, documented, and translated into effective solutions.

Key Outputs

• Lead business analysis activities across multiple HGR projects and programmes.
• Facilitate the development and implementation of business analysis frameworks, methodologies, standards, and governance.
• Provide thought leadership on business process improvement and digital transformation initiatives within the risk environment.
• Support the development of business cases and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of solutions with Group Risk strategy and enterprise objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with executives, business leaders, risk specialists, technology teams, regulators, and external partners.
• Facilitate workshops to elicit, analyse, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts related to business requirements and solution design.
• Lead the elicitation, documentation, analysis, validation, and management of business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Define and maintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, solutions, and benefits.
• Ensure requirements are clearly understood by project teams and solution providers.
• Review and approve requirements documentation produced by business analysts.
• Analyse existing business processes, controls, and operating models.
• Facilitate future-state process design and operating model development.
• Translate regulatory requirements into business and system requirements.
• Ensure solutions support effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, and governance.
• Collaborate with risk functions to improve risk management processes and controls.
• Work closely with solution architects, developers, data teams, and project managers.
• Support agile and waterfall delivery methodologies as required.
• Define business acceptance criteria and support test planning activities.
• Validate that implemented solutions satisfy business requirements.
• Ensure defects and issues are appropriately managed and resolved.
• Support development of risk dashboards, management information, and reporting solutions.
• Ensure consistency and quality of business data definitions and reporting needs.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop business analysts within the team.
• Review deliverables and ensure adherence to business analysis standards.
• Build business analysis capability within Hollard Group Risk.
• Support performance management and talent development initiatives.
