About the Role

A leading, well-established retail butchery brand is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Branch / Butchery Manager to oversee the complete operational management of a stand-alone independent Butchery store in Upington.

The successful candidate will take full accountability for daily store operations, production efficiency, stock control, gross profit (GP) management, staff leadership, and strict adherence to hygiene and temperature control standards.

Store & Operational Management: Full operational control of a high-volume stand-alone retail butchery store, ensuring daily target achievements, seamless customer service, and effective store administration.

Cash Management & Financial Controls: Overseeing daily cash-ups, float management, variance reconciliation, cash balancing, and managing Cash-in-Transit (CIT) processes in strict compliance with security and company procedures.

Production & Yield Management: Hands-on oversight of carcass breakdown, block tests, processing, packaging, and meat display to maximize yield and minimize shrinkage/waste.

Financial Control & GP Optimization: Accurate GP calculations, competitive pricing implementation, stock management, and strict margin control.

Cold Chain & Quality Control: Continuous monitoring of cold temperature controls, food safety compliance, and strict adherence to sanitation, health, and hygiene standards.

Staff Leadership: Managing, training, and scheduling store personnel to maintain peak performance, team productivity, and exceptional customer service standards.

Experience

Proven track record as a Store / Branch Manager or Butchery Manager within a stand-alone retail butchery environment OR high-volume retail chain store with a strong, hands-on meat/butchery background.

Technical Skills

In-depth knowledge of butchery production processes, block tests, GP calculations, Cash Up, CIT and stock control.

Strong expertise in cold chain management and food safety/hygiene regulations.

Clear credit record.

Clear criminal record.

Licensing & Transport

Valid Driver’s License and own reliable personal vehicle.
