Minimum Qualifications

  • Level 2: Grade 10 and National Certificates level 2 Trade and Occupational Qualifications Services
  • National Certificate: Electro-Mechanics Mining and Minerals (Mechanical)
  • 18 months’ experience in conventional mining

Requirements

  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain SHE standards within the work environment
  • Monitor compliance to SHE requirements in the work environment
  • Apply and comply to SHE standards in the work environment Quality Management System (QMS):
  • Participate in risk assessments and take appropriate action
  • Identify cost saving and cash conservation opportunities
  • Safeguard company assets (fixed and working capital) Corporate Governance and Organisational Ethics:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair by diagnosing faults as instructed by Foreman
  • Conduct ad hoc routine and maintenance
  • Diagnosing breakdown problems in areas of expertise
  • Provide water supply and control by maintaining and repairing pumps up to C5 pumps
  • Conduct entry examination to ensure all equipment is in proper working order
  • Perform manual tasks of electrical nature, e.g. moving of rig boxes, connecting of fans
  • Assist in installing and moving of equipment and machinery
  • Provide fitter services , e.g. maintain vent doors, tips, conveyor belts
  • Perform boilermaking services, e.g. welding and cutting
  • Maintain and monitor performance to ensure establish goals and expectations are met.

  • To provide an engineering service to mining through repairing, servicing and maintaining machinery and equipment.
