Our client is a well-established and growing construction company seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll and HR administration professional who is highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer monthly payroll, including wages, salaries and employee benefits.
Process and maintain PAYE, UIF, SDL, Provident Fund, Medical Aid and BCEA requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and personnel files.
Assist with recruitment, including job advertising, interviews and onboarding.
Maintain training and development records.
Assist with disciplinary, grievance and termination processes.
Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and HR policies.
Manage relevant submissions to SARS, FEM, CESA and BCEA.
Prepare HR and payroll reports.
Assist with BBBEE and Employment Equity documentation.
Support employee wellness and engagement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric – essential.
HR or Payroll qualification will be advantageous.
3–5 years' experience in payroll administration, preferably within the construction industry.
Good knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR compliance.
Experience with payroll systems such as Sage, VIP, EJM or similar.
Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

We are looking for someone who is accurate, dependable and hands-on, with a strong understanding of payroll and HR administration. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently while also supporting a busy HR function.
