About the role

Moonsport is a sports marketing agency in Cape Town. We're hiring a Producer to own production jobs end to end.

You own jobs outright: the production solution, the budget, the client relationship, and the margin. There's no production manager underneath you, so you handle both the production and the production management on your own jobs. For larger-scale jobs, we bring in additional production support, and you'll run the operational engine alongside freelancers and our Head of Content & Systems.

What you'll do

• Build the production solution and schedule from the brief: approach, suppliers, crew, equipment, locations, post-production, and timeline
• Build the budget, set the target margin, and present it internally and to the client
• Source, book, and negotiate crew and suppliers against that budget
• Run pre-production, shoot, and post through to final delivery, archive, and reconciliation
• Hold delivery standards, including client-side QC specs where they apply
• Monitor working versus actual cost and flag variance early, with options
• Own change estimates (CEs), POs, invoicing, and petty cash, working with Accounts
• Keep a four-week forward view of your jobs and flag production peaks before they land
• Run internal and external briefings, and keep crew, suppliers, and Accounts aligned on the current schedule
• What you'll need
• 5+ years producing content or commercial production
• Proven margin accountability: you've built budgets, negotiated against them, and reconciled them
• End-to-end technical understanding across pre-production, shoot, post, and delivery specs
• An existing crew and supplier network in Cape Town
• The judgement to run jobs solo and know when to escalate
• Live and broadcast experience is an advantage, not a requirement
