Electrical Design Draftsman

ROLE PURPOSE

We are inviting suitably qualified and experienced internal candidates to apply for the position of Electrical Design Draughtsman.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical design and drafting support to projects across various industries and multinational markets. The role requires strong technical drafting capabilities, with particular emphasis on cable harness design and SolidWorks Electrical.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Drafting or a related field will be advantageous.
• 1-3 years’ experience
• Proven experience in electrical design and drafting.
• Practical experience with SolidWorks Electrical is essential/preferred.
• Experience in cable harness design is essential/preferred.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Cable harness design and development.
• SolidWorks Electrical.
• Electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Supporting engineering and project teams with electrical design requirements.
• Providing design support for projects across multinational markets.
• Working on projects across various industry sectors.
• Interpreting technical specifications and translating requirements into accurate electrical designs.
• Ensuring drawings and designs comply with relevant technical and engineering standards.
• Working closely with Engineers, Project Managers and other relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities And Work Outputs

• Prepare and update electrical drawings and design documentation.
• Develop and modify cable harness designs.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical.
• Provide drafting and design support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with design changes, revisions and technical documentation.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of all drawings and designs.
• Work closely with the Engineering and Projects teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Provide technical support where required on projects involving international customers and various industry sectors.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions and project documentation.
