Qualifications, Experience And Competencies Required

Minimum N3 Mechanical and Trade Test. Completed apprenticeship as Mechanical Fitter

Maintenance and production experience in heavy industry.

Dynamic, work under pressure, sober habits and work with people at all levels.

To maintain all machinery under their control in good condition.
To lead and provide mechanical maintenance supervision of artisan in the extraction section of Front End.
To liaise with services departments (Construction, E&I and Hydraulics) regarding required services in the extraction section.
Initiate purchase requisitions for authorisation by Plant Engineer.
Ensure 100 % availability of machinery in the extraction section.
To ensure that tool registers are kept, subordinates have correct PPE and that Safe Work Procedures are adopted where required.
To ensure adherence to SHE procedures (Work permits, toolbox talks, Take 5s, PJOs etc.)
Set tasks for subordinates and monitor completion of scheduled maintenance to standard. Provide leadership and motivation for said subordinates.
Participate in plant upgrade and project initiatives as they may arise and under the direction of the Plant Engineer.
