Tax Manager

A reputable tax, audit and accounting practice is seeking a Tax Manager to join their team in Cape Town. This office-based role involves overseeing tax compliance, advisory, and planning services for corporate, trust, and individual clients. The successful candidate will manage SARS submissions, optimize tax strategies, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of tax obligations for approximately 150 - 300 clients.

Requirements include (but are not limited to)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
• Professional tax qualification or in-progress (e.g., HDip Tax) desirable
• Registered tax practitioner
• 3–5 years’ hands-on tax experience, including engagements with SARS
• Comprehensive knowledge of South African tax legislation (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE)
• Experience with tax compliance, advisory, and planning for companies, trusts, and individuals
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent client communication and negotiation abilities
• Attention to detail with timely delivery of obligations
• Experience with Greatsoft accounting/tax software preferred
• Prepare and file Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, and provisional returns accurately
• Monitor filing deadlines and notify clients of obligations
• Handle SARS queries and audits, ensuring prompt and accurate responses
• Advise on business restructuring, trusts, and estate planning for optimal tax outcomes
