ACCOUNTS OFFICER - Avoca, Durban Salary: R60,000 per month + Benefits

CK Africa Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the manufacturing and building materials industry for an experienced Accounts Officer to join their finance team in Avoca, Durban.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of accounting and financial functions, including accounts payable, management accounts, tax, reconciliations, financial reporting and support for the annual audit and preparation of annual financial statements.

• Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and payments.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and Board reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Calculate and coordinate payment of VAT, Income Tax, Dividends Tax, Carbon Tax and Royalty Tax.
• Maintain fixed asset and property registers.
• Perform general ledger, fixed asset and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits and financial statements.
• Manage insurance declarations and claims, leases and petty cash.
• Act as an authorised bank signatory.

• Postgraduate qualification in Finance.
• 2–4 years' relevant experience in an accounting environment.
• Experience after completing articles advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of South African VAT, Income Tax and applicable tax legislation.
• Advanced MS Office and Excel skills.
• Experience with financial systems; JDE advantageous.
• Strong financial modelling, spreadsheet and macro skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Salary: R60,000 per month
