Role Description
UCA is urgently seeking a CA(SA) based in East London to support a short-term project involving onsite business visits and assessments.
This is a contract, on-site assignment in East London, running from 28 September to 2 October 2026.
The successful candidate will represent UCA during scheduled site visits with participating businesses, engage directly with business owners and management teams, gather and verify information, assess key areas of business performance and provide structured feedback and reporting following each visit.
The assignment requires someone who is professional, commercially minded and comfortable engaging directly with entrepreneurs and business owners.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct scheduled onsite visits to businesses in East London
• Engage with business owners and key stakeholders
• Gather, review and verify business and financial information
• Assess operational, financial and governance-related areas of the business
• Identify key observations, risks, gaps and development requirements
• Complete required assessment documents and site visit reports
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for each visit
• Provide clear and practical feedback based on observations
• Liaise with the UCA project team regarding progress and findings
• Ensure all assigned visits and documentation are completed within the project timeline
Requirements
• Qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
• Must be based in East London or immediately surrounding areas
• Must have capacity to attend site visits between 28 September and 2 October 2026
• Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to assess businesses from both a financial and commercial perspective
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence engaging with entrepreneurs, business owners and senior stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and deliver against tight timelines
• Own transport is highly advantageous
• Previous experience in consulting, advisory, enterprise development, SME development, audit or financial management will be advantageous
